Week One

Just Remember you can do anything you set your mind to, but it takes action, perseverance, and facing your fears. -Gillian Anderson

I thought this quote was appropriate-facing my fears and all.   Well here goes, I am jumping into the assignment with trepidation-I have the jitters....  There are 14 weeks in our course and I will be anxious to see how it progresses......

Members of the class bring a great variety of experiences and background to the mix and I  am looking forward to a super spring semester.

A major discovery upon reviewing the materials was the highlighting capacity of Diigo.  What a dynamic tool for tracking and rereading information.

I agree with Steve Hargadon in his closing comments regarding the future of the web.

I believe that the read/write Web, or what we are calling Web 2.0, will culturally, socially, intellectually, and politically have a greater impact than the advent of the printing press. I believe that we cannot even begin to imagine the changes that are going to take place as the two-way nature of the Internet begins to flower, and that even those of us who have spent time imagining this future will be astounded by what happens. I'm going to identify ten trends in this regard that I think have particular importance for education and learning, and then discuss seven steps I think educators can take to make a difference during this time. Steve Hargadon: Web 2.0 Is the Future of Education

Unbelievable the short time that the web has been public.

If you look at the sheer numbers of students, not just Internet users, then you could argue that Web 2.o has already had a greater impact... Great response.
